yiiippaaa!!! i met in salta 2 guys from senegaaaal. abdul is from fatih and anio from djourbel. they sell jewery on the market of salta. they re here since 2002 and speak now more spanish than french. but how happy i was to speak a bit of wolof with them...

north of argentina: tilkara and salta

It s finally with some regrets that i left bolivia for argentina. so far i think peru and bolivia were the most amazing countries i saw in south america, and i just saw a very little part of each of them. i guess i will come back one day to see everything....

amazing bolivia... el salar d uyuni

my last stop in bolivia was uyuni and the salar. i did a 3days tour in all the south west bolivia, where i saw you cant imagine how amazing sceneries.... desert, dry, volcano, colored lakes, strange stones, geysers, the salar, a train cemetery. it feels...

potosi is the highest city of the world. it s set at 4200m above sea level. here there s a mount, a mine exploited since 400 years and still have for 400 years of exploitation. a story or legend says: with all the bones of the miners dead there, we could...

the altiplano

after a long and tiring saturday in the crazy carnival, i didnt do anything on sunday in oruro, so on monday i moved out of it to challacollo, close to the uru uru lake. the scenery is just crazy. it s flat, it feels high (4000 above sea level) the colours...

from buena vista i went thru santa cruz directly to samaipata, mataral until vallegrande, the city in bolivia where the whole world saw on pictures or videos that Ernesto "Che" Guevara was killed while trying to create one of the many vietnam he said...

buena vista

after a few days spent in villa tunari, i went to the direction of santa cruz, which was the next big city, but stopped before in a little village called buena vista. this stop was just the occasion of a big party to pre launch the carnival, one week...

jungle or not jungle?

after spending one week in la paz, i decided to go to oruro. hitch hiking of course! i ended up walking trhu the city under the rain (the luck i had, it was sunny everyday except the day i left) to find the beginning of the highway. i ended up in a truck...

un amor de la paz

I arrived in la paz hitch hiking from peru, in the back of a jeep. what an incredible scenery, the snow topped mountains, the altiplano, the more than blue sky, the more than bright white sky... ooouuuuaaaahhhhhh!!!! so la paz is the highest capital in...
