balsas and potatoes truck trip

after 3 days spent in leymebamba, i took the bus coming from chachapoyas, but as there s only 2 buses a week, it was full. so i had to sit on my derbuka or stay stand up for the 7h trip to balsas(different that the one at the border), this little town...

leymebamba

from chachapoyas, to join the coast, there were 2 possibilities. the first one taking the normal and better road, faster. the second one taking a dirty road, very uncomfortable, but passing thru some crazy sceneries and villages, some places not a lot...

crossing the border

from cuenca, i directly went to peru, after 24h of travelling in some tough and dirty road to one of the less used border check point: la balsa. there i had the most funny experience of border crossing. we ve been waiting in equador to get our exit stamp...

pedro and marie

i met these backpackers when i took the train going towards cuenca. pedro is brasilian and marie french from rennes but she lives in brasil since 4 month. they met eachother a few days ago as well and are sometimes speaking portuguese, and guess what?...

Ecuadorian highlands

from quito i went near latacunga. i left tibo at the bus terminal in quito cos he was going to the coast and me more in the mountain down south. so from this moment i was travelling alone with all the people from south america and the people travelling...
